The New-Age Resin Garden Edging

You are blessed with a large lawn but if you keep it unkempt it soon loses its appeal and becomes a messy place. Demarcating borders with the help of edging is one way to keep the garden looking tidy and pretty at the same time. Edging can be done not only for flower and vegetable beds but any area of the garden which you would like to highlight or create a distinctive look. Garden edging can be as expensive or inexpensive as one would wish. Simply digging a trench around the area to be demarcated is one of the inexpensive ways of edging but it is labor intensive as it requires constant maintenance. Edging can be done with stones, metal and other materials. Resin garden edging is gaining in popularity with the increasing awareness of resin as a cheap and hardy substitute for other more expensive materials.

Edging is almost as important as other decorations in the garden and its proper execution adds to the overall decor of the yard or garden. It is like a frame for the garden and is also essential for more practical purposes like keeping the grass away from more ornamental garden beds. A living edge planted with flowers can be an attractive border for a pond or fountain or maybe a tennis court. Plants which have thick growth will prevent the grass from spilling over to the garden and weeding becomes simpler. A well-spruced lawn is a gift for the eyes and garden edging makes that possible.

If you have a container garden, maybe you can add a trellis behind the containers to add visual appeal and to bring the potted plant in focus. A trellis with climbing vines behind the containers make an interesting screen and the end product is attractive. An herb border in the garden (maybe near the kitchen) will not only look refreshing but also provide you with your own fresh herbs for cooking. Imagine being able to pluck fresh herbs right from the plants just before cooking! You can place the herb border near the vegetable patch so you have all your kitchen ingredients together.

Rocks can be used to create interesting borders or edgings. A low rock wall held together with mortar creates a beautiful demarcation for your garden or driveway and if the rocks are large and flat enough, you can even put pots with colorful flowering plants on them or intersperse the plain rocks with moss-covered stones. Fake rocks can be got from any garden supply store and they will work out cheaper than natural rocks, unless you are getting the natural ones for free!

Garden edging, as we can see, has come of age with many different materials vying for the best edging product.
